Our thoughts, drive our feelings, which impact the actions we take. The bitch of it is far too many of us are trapped in a pattern of 'negative' thoughts, which trigger 'unpleasant' emotions, which results in a specific actions. Some people drink. Some drug. Some disapear in their work. Others within social media sites or online games. And some simply shut down. To avoid these feelings people distract, which frames a problem. Depression and anxiety are prevalent because those suffering are aware those feelings will re-emerge (possibly with more intensity). Creating a cycle of dependency. 

Mindfulness is an approach to detaching from that cycle. 


Mindfulness refers to focusing our attention on the thoughts and feelings we are experiencing in the here and now. Through mindful attention and acceptance, we allow every feeling, emotion, sensation or thought to be present, without judgement. We don’t fight - we accept. This is GOOD. By letting go of this struggle:
   ► We save energy.
   ► We create a sense of calm/relief.
   ► We realize unpleasant emotions fade.
   ► We gain insights from the intuition(s) that follow.
   ► Our self esteem is enhanced.

Mindfulness & Acceptance helps us see clearly, new opportunities are identied, which offer the opportunity to unhook from past stories.

 

Steps through a meditation of acceptance:
   ► Sit comfortably and relax.
   ► Become aware of your breathing.
   ► Inhale deeply and slowly.
   ► Observe each breath.
   ► Attend the moment with curiosity.
   ► What emotion are you feeling.
   ► Describe what you are experiencing.
